Wavelength Selective Multi‐Material 3D Printing of Soft Active Devices Using Orthogonal Photoreactions

چکیده

Inside Cover: In article 2200586, Sandra Schlögl and co-workers demonstrate that Acrylate functional coumarin monomers are synthetized cured by wavelength orthogonal photoreactions yielding soft (405 nm) stiff (365 networks. Advancing from thin films, the dual 3D printing of active devices is demonstrated with locally controlled mechanical thermal properties using a single vat. The concept highly versatile applicable to acrylate thiol-acrylate photopolymers.

Instrumented cardiac microphysiological devices via multimaterial three-dimensional printing

Biomedical research has relied on animal studies and conventional cell cultures for decades. Recently, microphysiological systems (MPS), also known as organs-on-chips, that recapitulate the structure and function of native tissues in vitro, have emerged as a promising alternative. However, current MPS typically lack integrated sensors and their fabrication requires multi-step lithographic proce...

Towards mechanical characterization of soft digital materials for multimaterial 3D-printing

We study mechanical behavior of soft rubber-like digital materials used in Polyjet multimaterial 3D-printing to create deformable composite materials and flexible structures. These soft digital materials are frequently treated as linear elastic materials in the literature. However, our experiments clearly show that these materials exhibit significant non-linearities under large strain regime. M...

Multimaterial magnetically assisted 3D printing of composite materials

3D printing has become commonplace for the manufacturing of objects with unusual geometries. Recent developments that enabled printing of multiple materials indicate that the technology can potentially offer a much wider design space beyond unusual shaping. Here we show that a new dimension in this design space can be exploited through the control of the orientation of anisotropic particles use...

Microfluidic Printheads for Multimaterial 3D Printing of Viscoelastic Inks.

Multimaterial 3D printing using microfluidic printheads specifically designed for seamless switching between two visco-elastic materials "on-the-fly" during fabrication is demonstrated. This approach opens new avenues for the digital assembly of functional matter with controlled compositional and property gradients at the microscale.

3d-printing of Energy Devices Using Particle-based Inks

Introduction and Summary Over the past year, ISEN funding has been utilized to make significant research progress towards the fabrication of a fully 3D-printed iron/solid oxide fuel cell (Metallic/multi-ceramic) batterygenerator system (Figure 1). Monies have gone towards the partial funding of one grad student/postdoc, Adam Jakus, in Ramille Shah’s Tissue Engineering and Additive Manufacturing...
